Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Storage Wembley in respect of its financial year and sets out the steps taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains.
Storage Wembley recognises that modern slavery is a serious crime and a grave violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or in any of our supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Wembley operates a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, contractors, agency workers, suppliers, and business partners.
We will not knowingly support or deal with any business involved in modern slavery or human trafficking. Where we identify a risk or a breach, we will take immediate and proportionate action, which may include suspension or termination of the relationship, reporting to relevant authorities, and cooperation with any investigation.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Wembley provides secure storage and related services. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, providers of facilities management, security services, cleaning and maintenance, equipment and materials, technology and software, and professional advisory services.
We acknowledge that some parts of these supply chains may present higher risks, particularly where there is reliance on temporary, seasonal, or subcontracted labour. We are committed to working transparently with our suppliers to understand these risks and to mitigate them.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To reduce the risk of modern slavery within our supply chains, Storage Wembley has implemented due diligence processes when onboarding and reviewing suppliers. These processes are designed to assess compliance with our standards on human rights, labour, and ethical conduct.
We expect all suppliers to adhere to our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and to operate in accordance with all applicable labour and human rights laws. Where appropriate, we request information on suppliers employment practices, use of subcontractors, and measures for preventing forced or trafficked labour.
Storage Wembley may conduct audits or request evidence from suppliers to verify compliance. These audits may be risk-based and can include on-site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management. Non-compliance may result in the requirement for corrective action within a defined timeframe, and persistent or serious breaches may lead to termination of the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Storage Wembley encourages a culture of openness and accountability. All employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking at the earliest possible stage.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting procedures. Concerns may include suspected labour exploitation, unreasonable recruitment fees, retention of identity documents, restriction of movement, or any other indicators of forced or compulsory labour.
We will take all reports seriously and handle them sensitively. No person raising a genuine concern in good faith will suffer any retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result of making a report. Where appropriate, we will involve specialist professionals or relevant authorities to support investigations and remedial actions.
Training and Awareness
Storage Wembley is committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, site management, and human resources.
We aim to provide training and guidance so that relevant employees can recognise the signs of modern slavery, understand our internal reporting channels, and apply our policies when engaging with suppliers and contractors.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Wembley recognises that preventing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to reviewing and improving our policies, processes, and controls on a continual basis.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. The review will consider any incidents reported, changes to legislation, feedback from stakeholders, and findings from supplier due diligence or audits.
Following each review, we will update this statement or our internal procedures as necessary and communicate significant changes to our employees and, where relevant, to our suppliers and business partners.
This statement has been approved by the management of Storage Wembley and constitutes our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the relevant financial year.
